A 43-year-old man died after being ejected from his speeding vehicle, which missed a highway curve and went airborne, Manitoba RCMP say.
The man was driving on Highway 11 at a high rate of speed on Sunday when he missed a bend where the highway meets Petersen Crescent in the rural municipality of Lac du Bonnet, police said.
The vehicle went into the ditch off the highway, ramped up the side of Petersen Crescent and soared into the nearby wooded area.
Police were called at about 3:30 p.m. and found the man in the bush outside of the vehicle. The surrounding area was searched but nobody else was located.
A forensic collision reconstructionist is helping RCMP with its investigation.
