EYE ON CRIME: Police seek help identifying theft and assault suspects

Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help to locate a suspect in an assault and theft and another who assaulted a transit driver. To help generate tips, Crime Stoppers released photos.

On Aug. 15 the victim was seated in his vehicle in a parking lot in the 800 block of Leila when three people approached him. One of the unknown persons attempted to gain entry into the vehicle by the driver’s door causing the driver to attempt to flee. The suspect then mounted the vehicle and eventually gained access to the interior by smashing its rear window. The victim was able to fight off the suspect but his wallet was stolen.

On Aug. 21 a female passenger on a Winnipeg Transit bus first threw a can drink at the driver of the bus and then punched him while the bus was stopped in the area of Main St and Cathedral. Police were called but the suspect fled before they arrived.
