Rain system cause power outages in Winnipeg, Southern Manitoba

Winnipeg and parts of Southern Manitoba are experiencing power outages due to a system moving through that is expected to end early this morning, followed by clearing skies. Today’s forecast high is 24 C, with a humidex of 31.

Tonight, skies will be partly cloudy and the temperature will drop to 16 overnight.

Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, with a 30% chance of more showers in the afternoon and a possible thunderstorm. Winds from the east will reach 20 km/h, gusting to 40, and will shift to the south at 30 km/h with gusts up to 60 by late afternoon. The high will be 25 degrees, and the humidex will be 32. There will be cloudy periods overnight with a low of 16.

On Thursday the forecast calls for cloudy skies with a 60% chance of showers. The high will be 20, and the low will dip to 14 with continued cloudy conditions and a similar chance of rain.

Things may improve for Friday when it’s expected to be cloudy with a high of 20. Cloudy periods are expected overnight with a low of 9.
