Two charged after guns, drugs seized from Swan River home

Two men have been charged after police found firearms and other weapons along with drugs and illegal cigarettes during a search of a Swan River home, RCMP said.

Swan River RCMP searched a home on 1st Street South on Sept. 7 with its emergency response team, drone unit, and police dog, it said in a news release Wednesday. They found five firearms, six BB and Airsoft guns, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, ammunition, knives (straight blade, retractable, and fold-out), machetes, brass knuckles, and a crossbow, police said. Unstamped cigarettes were also located.

Two males, aged 77 and 31, were arrested on firearms charges and two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. They were released from custody pending a court date, RCMP said.
