The investigation began in August, focusing on drug distribution within the region.

On Sept. 19, officers conducted a traffic stop at St. Mary’s Road and Hull Avenue. Three men were taken into custody during the operation, leading to the seizure of illicit substances and other items linked to the trafficking network.

The seized items included approximately 834 individually wrapped grams of cocaine, an additional 66 grams of packaged cocaine, $1,965 in Canadian currency, two vehicles, drug packaging materials, a stolen identification document, luggage, and airline tickets. The drugs had an estimated street value of $70,000 within the northern First Nations communities.

A 26-year-old Winnipegger, a 24-year-old from Vita, Man., and a 27-year-old Penticton, B.C. man have been charged with drug trafficking offences and remain in custody.

Police believe this criminal network operates across provincial lines and that the seized cocaine was intended to be transported to northern First Nations communities. The investigation is ongoing.
