Three children at centre of abduction case found, mother taken into custody

A woman wanted in connection to the alleged abduction of her three children has been arrested.

In June 2024, 55-year-old Astrid Schiller and her three children were located at the Boissevain Port of Entry.

They were first reported missing in December 2023 from Durham, Ontario.

The kids were taken into care and their mother, Schiller, was arrested as a result of an outstanding Warrant of Arrest for Child Abduction from Durham Regional Police.

She was later released, as the warrant was not extended to Manitoba.

The following day, RCMP received a report that the kids were no longer in care at a residence in Forrest, Man., and were missing.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25, RCMP in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK received information that Schiller and her three kids were at a location within the community.

Officers quickly attended to the location and found Astrid. She was arrested and placed into custody.

Her three children were also located and have been placed into care until they are reunited with family in Ontario.

Astrid Schiller was transported back to Brandon where she remains in custody.
