Before becoming a full-time food blogger, Cassandra was a contestant on Big Brother Canada Seasons 4 and 5, where her down-to-earth, charismatic personality captured the hearts of viewers across the country. Today, she brings that same warm energy to her blog, inspiring home cooks with easy-to-follow recipes that deliver amazing results every time.

Cassandra’s journey in the kitchen, however, didn’t start off so smoothly. After Big Brother Canada, her culinary skills were limited — her go-to meals were take-out and frozen dinners! Determined to change that, she dove into recipe research, reading reviews, testing dishes, and refining each new recipe she tried. What began as a necessity soon became a passion. She quickly took charge of the kitchen, cooking for family and friends and documenting the process. As her husband Walt likes to say, she’s gone from “toast to turkeys.”

Cassandra believes that if she can cook, anyone can. Her blog is dedicated to making cooking enjoyable, stress-free, and always delicious for all, no matter your skill level. When she promises a recipe takes 30 minutes, you can trust it’ll be on the table in 30 minutes — prep time included — and that it will always be packed with flavour. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a meal that makes you look like a pro in the kitchen?

At home, Cassandra’s biggest fan and official taste tester is her husband, Walt. They were married at the iconic Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg, a city they’re both proud to call home.

With more than 100 recipes on her blog and counting, you’ll find everything from holiday meals and appetizers to breakfasts, sides, desserts, and one-pan dinners — each with clear, step-by-step instructions and helpful tips. No more wondering, “What’s for dinner?” Whether you’re cooking for a busy weeknight or hosting a festive celebration, Cassandra has you covered, helping you make every meal a success.

You will find Cassandra’s offerings in the Winnipeg Sun on Sundays beginning this weekend.
