On Thursday morning, Winnipeg police conducted a traffic stop on Alexander Avenue involving a stolen 2017 GMC Terrain. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Central Park neighbourhood on Tuesday.

The male driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was arrested without incident. During the subsequent search, officers discovered two improvised firing devices, commonly known as zip guns, and four shotgun shells. One of the devices had a shell loaded in the barrel.

The 30-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with two counts of possession of a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He is in custody.
