Winnipeg, MB – At 1:58 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a single-storey commercial structure in the 700 block of St. Mary’s Road.
When crews arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. They initially launched a defensive fire attack from the exterior, but once conditions improved, they were able to enter the building and transition to an interior fire attack. The fire was declared under control at 2:48 a.m.
Crews completed a search of the building and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
