Symptoms include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache, and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable.

Consumers who may have the recalled product are urged to throw it out or return it to the place of purchase. The UPC code for the affected product is 8 77448 00481 1. If anyone suspects they became sick after consuming the product, they should contact their healthcare provider. In severe cases, listeria infection can lead to death.

The CFIA is conducting an investigation and monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
