Thick fog and slippery road conditions have led to a treacherous Wednesday morning commute and a few serious collisions.
As of 7 a.m., all southbound lanes of Highway 59, from Wenzel Road to Garven Road are closed due to a crash. A second collision has also closed a section of the north Perimeter Highway at Highway 221.

There is no word on injuries at this time.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and to find another route.
