Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Pritchard Avenue and Machray Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – Overnight, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two structure fires.

Pritchard Avenue

At 11:17 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a two storey house in the 600 block of Pritchard Avenue.

Firefighters saw smoke coming from the building when they arrived. They attacked the fire from the inside, declaring the fire under control at 11:44 p.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team helped find temporary accommodations for displaced residents.

No damage estimates are available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Machray Avenue

At 2:13 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in an apartment building in the 200 block of Machray Avenue. Firefighters attacked the fire from inside the building, declaring the fire under control at 2:27 a.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. Paramedics assessed one patient and no transportation to hospital was required.

No damage estimates are available. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
