Winnipeg man charged after Main Street restaurant robbery

An 18-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges after an incident at a fast food restaurant in the 1100 block of Main Street.

Police were called after a man armed with a knife entered the kitchen area, demanded food, and threatened to kill employees. Staff managed to lock themselves in an office and called 911.

The suspect then used a fire extinguisher to spray the kitchen and restaurant, causing significant damage before fleeing. Police arrived and arrested the man as he was leaving the premises. No injuries were reported.

The accused has been charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, uttering threats, mischief over $5,000, and possession of cocaine.
