Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to house fires on Manitoba Avenue and Garvie Bay

Winnipeg, MB – On Monday, December 2, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to fires on Manitoba Avenue and Garvie Bay.

Manitoba Avenue fire

At 12:10 p.m., WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a house in the 600 block of Manitoba Avenue.

At the scene, firefighters saw smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 12:38 p.m. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Garvie Bay fire

At 5:07 p.m., WFPS responded to reports of a fire on Garvie Bay.

At the scene, firefighters saw smoke coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the inside, declaring the fire under control at 5:22 p.m.

All occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
