Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Hendon Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 6:49 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in an eight-storey, residential building in the 100 block of Hendon Avenue.

At the scene, crews attacked the fire, declaring it under control at 7:50 a.m.

Paramedics treated three patients and transported them to hospital in stable condition.

The City of Winnipeg Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to help residents who were temporarily evacuated. A Winnipeg Transit bus provided temporary shelter for those who had to leave the building, but most residents were able to shelter in place while crews complete their work on scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
