Suspect arrested for armed robbery in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police arrested a man Sunday night after an armed robbery at a business on Talbot Avenue.

At around 10:14 p.m., officers responded to a call about a robbery in progress. Staff at the business reported that a man, who had been asked to leave, pulled out a concealed firearm and pointed it at a 26-year-old employee. The worker ran to the back of the store while the suspect jumped the counter, grabbed the cash drawer, and fled. No shots were fired, and no one was injured.

The K-9 Unit and Tactical Support Team searched the area. At approximately 10:40 p.m., officers located the suspect and took him into custody without incident. A firearm, cash register, and clothing matching the description of the robbery were recovered.

A 31-year-old man from Winnipeg is facing multiple charges, including armed robbery, possession of a prohibited firearm, and failing to comply with a release order.
