Man charged in connection with attack at Winnipeg restaurant

A man has been charged with multiple offences in connection with an attack that seriously injured a man inside a Burger King restaurant in Winnipeg earlier this week.

A man has been charged with multiple offences in connection with an attack that seriously injured a man inside a Burger King restaurant in Winnipeg earlier this week.

Police were called around 10 a.m. Tuesday to the restaurant at the corner of Osborne Street and Corydon Avenue. They found a man, 45, suffering from a serious upper body injury but the attacker, a person he knew, had already run off.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable, police said.

The 25-year-old man accused of the attack was located just after noon Wednesday, not far from Confusion Corner, where the incident happened.

He is charged with aggravated assault, robbery and failing to comply with a probation order and other court orders.
