A woman was sexually assaulted while walking home in a Richmond West park early Sunday, Winnipeg Police said.

At around 12:30 a.m., police were called to the report of a sexual assault at Kirkbridge Park in south Fort Garry.
Police said the victim, in her 20s, was walking home from a bus stop on Pembina Highway. As she passed through Kirkbridge Park, she was pushed to the ground by an unknown male and sexually assaulted. The suspect eventually fled on a bicycle, and she ran to safety. Police were contacted, and the victim received medical attention.
The Sex Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is in the early stages of gathering more information. The suspect is described as a male with light skin who spoke English with average build, approximately five-foot-eight in height. He was wearing all black, with a black baseball cap, black pants and was wearing a black COVID type of mask. There was no description of the bicycle given.
