At shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, crews were called to a monitored fire alarm in a single-family bungalow on Queensway Crescent. When they arrived, crews found smoke coming from the house. They entered and fought the fire from inside, declaring the fire under control at 8:51 p.m.

All occupants safely got out of the house prior to the arrival of crews. Crews rescued one dog from the house, which was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

At about the same time, WFPS attended to a fire at a commercial property in the first 100 block of Higgins Avenue. When crews arrived, they found a fire on the exterior building. They quickly launched a fire attack and were able to stop the fire from extending to the structure. The fire was declared under control at 8:48 p.m.

At just before 6 a.m., Sunday, crews were called to a garage fire in the 700 block of McMillan Avenue, where they found a well-involved fire, with heavy smoke and flames coming from the building. The fire was declared under control at 6:15 a.m.

Finally at 8:24 a.m., WFPS crews responded to a fire in a two-storey, multi-family building on Battery Street. Crews found smoke in the building and quickly knocked down the fire.

No injuries were reported in any of the fires which are all under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time for any of the fires.
