A 53-year-old man is dead after the plane he was piloting crashed into a field north of Duck Mountain Provincial Park, Manitoba RCMP say.

A 53-year-old man is dead after the plane he was piloting crashed into a field north of Duck Mountain Provincial Park, Manitoba RCMP say.
Officers were called Thursday at about 9:30 p.m. to the crash site north of Minitonas, about 35 kilometres northeast of Swan River, according to a news release on Friday afternoon.
RCMP and emergency services found a small single-engine airplane in a field east of Provincial Road 268, also called Lenswood Highway.
The 53-year-old found inside, who was the lone occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene, RCMP said.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified and will investigate the cause of the crash.
