Neil Young and Crazy Horse have cancelled their July 17 concert in Winnipeg.
“When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop. We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break,” the iconic Canadian rocker wrote in a statement that was posted on his website Wednesday.
“We will try to play some of the dates we miss as time passes when we are ready to rock again.”

Neil Young has cancelled his Winnipeg concert due to illness.
Young, 78, and his band were slated to perform at Blue Cross Park, the home of the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Ticketmaster notified fans about the cancellation in an email Wednesday evening, saying refunds will be automatically applied to ticket holders’ accounts within 21 days.
The band had concerts scheduled in Ontario, Alberta and B.C. throughout July, before returning to the U.S. for the final leg of the Love Earth Tour.
All of the remaining dates have been cancelled.
The tour promotes Fu##in’ Up, the latest album from Young and Crazy Horse, who have been recording and touring for 50 years. They last performed in Winnipeg in February 2019 at the Burton Cummings Theatre and the Centennial Concert Hall.
Young was expected to headline Ottawa Bluesfest on July 11, but organizers confirmed in a Facebook post that has been cancelled.
