A house in the rural municipality of West St. Paul was completely destroyed after it was engulfed in flames on Thursday morning, Manitoba RCMP say.
The fire was reported just before noon, RCMP spokesperson Julie Courchaine told CBC. The West St. Paul Fire Department, emergency medical services and RCMP responded to the fire, she said in an email.
There were no people or pets inside the home and no one was injured, Courchaine said.
Two vehicles in the driveway of the home, located at the corner of Mariners Trail and River Edge Drive, could be seen burned down to the metal framing later in the day.
Smoke could still be seen spilling from the structure in the River Edge Estates area mid-afternoon, as three firefighters stood on the front lawn spraying the destroyed home with hoses.
An excavator remained on a large flatbed truck in front of the house in the municipality, just north of Winnipeg and west of the Red River.
RCMP said the fire commissioner’s office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
