Police ask for witnesses of serious collision on Lagimodiere Boulevard

Police are continuing to investigate a multi-vehicle crash that sent at least two people to hospital on Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to Lagimodiere Boulevard and East Mint Place just before 11 a.m. on Friday for a multi-vehicle crash that involved a passenger vehicle and two semis.

A woman was taken to hospital in critical condition by STARS air ambulance, and a man was taken to hospital by a Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service ambulance.

Witnesses say it appeared that a semi had rear-ended the passenger vehicle, leaving the smaller vehicle severely damaged.

Police had closed the northbound lanes of Lagimodiere Boulevard for approximately 11 hours while the investigated the scene.
