At 9:30 p.m. police responded along with police dog services and their remotely piloted aircraft systems.

Police found an abandoned vehicle with no licence plates near the property. A licence plate was found inside the vehicle and RCMP said it turned out the vehicle was stolen from Abbotsford, B.C.

RCMP said they contained the area and with the assistance of the drone saw a person running through a neighboring property and hiding in an abandoned building. Officers closed in on the suspect, he gave up and was arrested without incident.

The man sustained minor injuries unrelated to this incident and was taken to the hospital.

The 38-year-old man from Newfoundland is facing charges of flight from a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime and trespass at night.
