What’s open and closed this August long weekend

While Canadians will be celebrating a civic holiday Monday, Manitobans will get the day off in honour of national icon Terry Fox, who was born in Winnipeg.

Manitoba marked its first Terry Fox Day in 2015. Fox, born in Winnipeg in 1958, ran halfway across Canada, raising millions of dollars for cancer research before he died of cancer in 1981.

The Free Press is not publishing a print or e-edition Monday, but readers can visit winnipegfreepress.com for the latest news and information.
