A 20-year-old man was shot multiple times Monday during a meet-up to sell a gun.

Winnipeg police said they were called at about 10 p.m. to the 500 block of Mountain Avenue for a man who had been shot. He was found in the 1000 block of McPhillips Street and taken to hospital in stable condition, which was later upgraded to stable.

Investigators learned the victim and suspects met via an online firearm brokerage classified website to finish a gun buy. When the victim became suspicious of the suspects’ behaviour and tried to leave, one of them pulled a gun and fired multiple rounds into his vehicle, police said.
The suspects fled before police arrived. One suspect was a white male in his 20s wearing a white hooded sweater, the other was a man in his 30s wearing dark clothing and carrying a long gun, police said.
