Commercial Business Break and Enter – Arrest: C24-160775

Between June 18 and August 8, 2024, several Winnipeg commercial businesses in the West End area fell victim to numerous break-and-enters with an estimated value of $283,000 in stolen property and $51,000 in sustained damage.

Several stolen vehicles were used during this crime spree, many of which were stolen from the related commercial businesses.

With the assistance of General Patrol officers, the Central Reporting Unit, and the Crime Analysis Unit, the Major Crimes Unit was able to identify and arrest a male in connection with these incidents.

 Mathew Daniel ROSS (38) of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:

  • Break Enter and Theft – Place x 23
  • Break Enter with Intent – Place x 5
  • Break Enter and Commit – Place
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 x 3
  • Possession of Break In Instrument(s)
  • Fraud Under $5,000 x 3
  • Robbery
  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited by Order Under Criminal Code
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order
  • Warrant – Fail to Comply with Order or Obligation x 2
  • Warrant – Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was detained in custody.
