Over the past weekend (August 10 to 11, 2024), as part of the extended provincially funded Violent Crime Retail Theft (VCRT) suppression initiative, assigned members of the Property Crime Unit and Community Support Units engaged in several offender apprehensions regarding retail theft.

- On August 10, a 35-year-old female was arrested for Theft Under $5,000 at a grocer on Bison Drive. Released on Undertaking.

- Community Support Officers from the East District located the suspect nearby and took her into custody. She provided a false identity until later in the investigation.

- Police were called regarding an individual arguing with staff, breaching the serving counter, stealing food and money, and fleeing.
