Two killed in separate crashes on highways north of Winnipeg

Two people have died in separate motor vehicle collisions north of Winnipeg.

A 61-year-old semi-trailer driver is believed to have lost control while travelling eastbound on Highway 68 near Arborg, Man., on Tuesday at about 1 p.m., entering the ditch and rolling. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Gimli RCMP said in a news release.

On Sunday at about 6:15 p.m., Powerview RCMP were told of a missing 53-year-old man from Sagkeeng First Nation who hadn’t been seen since 8:30 a.m., the previous day. A search mounted on Monday with RCMP, Sagkeeng Fire Department and community members located the man off Highway 12 near Cat Fish Creek. He had been in a fatal ATV collision, RCMP said in a news release.

RCMP continue to investigate both incidents.
