First dogs ready for adoption from Winnipeg Humane Society after large removal

A group of dogs are now looking for their forever homes.

Just over two weeks after the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian- Animal Welfare, the first group of dogs are at the Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) ready to be adopted.

“We’re deeply grateful to the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian-Animal Welfare, our dedicated staff, volunteers, and partners for their hard work and dedication to getting these dogs ready for their new life,” says Jessica Miller, CEO of the WHS in an email statement, adding the public’s generous support has allowed the organization to focus on the well-being of the large volume of dogs and all the animals in the WHS’ care.

Many of the small-breed dogs now wait to be spayed/neutered at the WHS clinic.

Some partner rescue organizations are going to be taking some of the dogs to help reduce the strain of caring for the animals on WHS resources.

Dogs currently at the WHS at 45 Hurst Way can be adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
