The Winnipeg Sun will not have an edition on Monday. As always, though, we’ll be updating winnipegsun.com throughout the weekend with the latest in breaking news, sports, and entertainment.

Malls will be open on Labour Day with CF Polo Park, Kildonan Place, St. Vital Centre, Garden City Shopping Centre and Outlet Collection Winnipeg open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., while Grant Park Shopping Centre will be open from noon to 5 p.m. As usual, some retailers (including restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, movie theatres, and the Grant Park Liquor Mart) may be open with different hours than the malls.

Liquor Marts in Winnipeg will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, with the exception of the True North Square location, which will be closed both days. Rural Liquor Marts including Brandon will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., although hours of operation of some rural locations may vary.

Recycling and garbage collection will be collected as normally scheduled on Monday. The Brady Road Landfill will be open for commercial customers only from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Brady 4R depot will be open Monday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., but the Pacific 4R and Panet 4R deports will be closed. All three will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Labour Day. All city libraries, leisure centres, and indoor pools will be closed Monday. So, too, will the Animal Services Agency and the Winnipeg Parking Authority.

Most City of Winnipeg outdoor pools, spray pads, and select wading pools have been closed with these closing at end of day Monday —  Freight House, Kildonan Park, St. Vital, Transcona Aquatic Park and Westdale. All City indoor pools and fitness and leisure centre will be closed on Monday.

Offices at Brookside, St. Vital, and Transcona cemeteries will be closed Monday. But visitation will be open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Crescent Drive, Kildonan Park, and Windsor Park golf courses will remain open throughout the long weekend, weather permitting.

Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be closed on Monday, while the Manitoba Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Winnipeg Art Gallery-Qaumajuq will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Assiniboine Park Zoo will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
