A person who drove through a protest in downtown Winnipeg on Wednesday afternoon struck a person.

A video shows several attendees of a protest at Portage Avenue and Main Street trying to block a car and jumping on top of it before the driver accelerates and hits someone.

Winnipeg police had warned of traffic disruptions due to a protest at Portage Avenue and Main Street at noon.

The protest was held after Winnipeg police announced that a woman died after being hit by a police car that was driving through a small riverside park off River Avenue on Monday night.
