Police seek help ID’ing woman found dead on Main Street

Winnipeg police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman after the discovery of a body in the 600 block of Main Street on Aug. 10.

The Winnipeg Police Service has released a composite sketch of the deceased in hopes of raising public awareness to assist in identifying her and notifying her family.

The woman is believed to be in her 20s to 30s, approximately 5-foot-5 with a thin build. She has short dark hair, brown eyes, and a distinctive mole above her left eye. Her eyebrows were coloured black.

At the time of her discovery, she was wearing a grey “Bench” hoodie, black pants with a bright yellow stripe down the side, black socks, and black runners. She was carrying a large tan-colored handbag and a blue “Roots” suitcase.

The police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying this woman and bringing closure to her family.

Anyone with information that may help investigators identify this woman is urged to contact the Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250. Tips can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS or online at winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
