Winnipeg, MB – At 3:12 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of fire at a one-and-a-half storey house in the 500 block of Flora Avenue.
When WFPS crews arrived on scene, heavy smoke was coming from the structure. They initially launched an exterior fire attack, but were able to enter the house and put the fire out from inside. The fire was declared under control at 4 p.m.
Firefighters completed a search of the house and no occupants were found. One cat was rescued safely. No injuries were reported.
Damage estimates are not available at this time. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
