A 15-year-old boy from Lake St. Martin First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a shooting in the community earlier this week.

A 15-year-old boy from Lake St. Martin First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a shooting in the community earlier this week.

The teen was arrested on Thursday, a day after Mounties found a 32-year-old woman fatally shot at a home in the Manitoba Interlake community, RCMP said in a Saturday news release.

The boy was taken into custody.

Police previously said the incident does not appear to be random.

RCMP continue to investigate.
