21-year-old passenger dies after ATV flips in northern Manitoba

A 21-year-old man, who was a passenger riding an ATV in Manto Sipi Cree Nation, died after the vehicle flipped on Wednesday, Manitoba RCMP say.

A 21-year-old man is dead after the ATV he was on flipped in northeastern Manitoba on Wednesday, RCMP say.

Gods Lake Narrows RCMP responded to the single-vehicle crash in Manto Sipi Cree Nation, near the north shoreline of God’s Lake, just after 3 p.m., police said in a Thursday news release.

The man, who was a passenger on the ATV, was taken to a nursing station where he died from his injuries.

The driver, a 14-year-old girl, was not physically injured, police said. 

Neither of the riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash, RCMP said.
