A four-year-old child is in hospital in serious condition following a collision in Brandon, Man., on Monday afternoon, according to police.

A four-year-old child is in hospital following a collision in Brandon, Man., on Monday afternoon, according to police.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m., the child “ran into the street and struck the side of a trailer being towed by a truck” in the 2400 block of Victoria Avenue, a spokesperson with the Brandon Police Service told CBC News in an email Monday evening.

The child was transported via STARS air ambulance to Winnipeg in serious condition, the spokesperson said.
