A 61-year-old man is dead after the semi-trailer truck he was driving rolled into a ditch in Manitoba’s Interlake region.

Gimli RCMP officers responded Tuesday afternoon to reports of a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 68, roughly four kilometres east of the town of Arborg.

After their investigation, RCMP learned that the man was driving an eastbound semi-trailer truck on the highway. The man then appeared to have lost control behind the wheel, entered a ditch and rolled over, RCMP said in a news release Wednesday.

The driver was pronounced dead at the site of the crash. He has not been identified by the RCMP.

Gimli RCMP said they continue to investigate the vehicle rollover.
