Here’s a look at what’s open and closed in Winnipeg over the Easter long weekend.
City services:
All City of Winnipeg offices will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, but the city’s 311 services will still be available to provide assistance.
The Winnipeg Parking Authority office will be closed through the weekend, but people can still pay for any parking tickets online.
Winnipeg Transit:
On Good Friday, bus services will operate on Sunday’s schedule.
Garbage and recycling:
The garbage and recycling services will run as scheduled for people who have Friday and Monday as their collection days.
Animal services:
The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Friday and Monday. It will be open for its regular business hours on Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m.
Libraries:
All of the Winnipeg Public Library locations will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, but the libraries will remain open for regular hours of operation on Saturday.
On Easter Monday, the following libraries will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
- Millennium.
- Bill and Helen Norrie.
- Henderson.
- Louis Riel.
- Pembina Trail.
- St. James-Assiniboia.
- West Kildonan.
Liquor Marts:
All Liquor Marts in Winnipeg will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Good Friday. The Liquor Marts will operate during regular business hours on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and back to all regular hours on Easter Monday.
Shopping Malls:
Kildonan Place, St. Vital, CF Polo Park and the Outlet Collection mall will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Good Friday and closed on Sunday. Each mall will return to regular hours on Monday.
Portage Place, Garden City and the Grant Park shopping centres will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Museums, galleries and activities:
The city’s indoor pools, fitness and leisure centres have varying hours of operation depending on the location.
On Good Friday, all of the centres will be closed with the exception of the Pan Am Pool, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Margaret Grant Pool, open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On Saturday, the facilities will operate at their regular hours and then close on Sunday by 4 p.m.
On Easter Monday, all of the pools and fitness centres are closed except for Pan Am Pool, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Margaret Grant Pool, open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex, open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Eldon Ross Pool will be closed all weekend.
The Manitoba Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday
The Canadian Museum for Human Rights will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
The Winnipeg Art Gallery-Qaumajuq will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday, but it will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
The Royal Aviation Museum will be open on Good Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and students and youth will receive a 50 per cent admission discount.
The Forks Market will operate under its regular hours over the weekend.
