Forceful winds cause power outages around Winnipeg, impacting nearly 6K hydro customers

“Our crews are responding to several power outages in and around Winnipeg caused by high winds causing trees to make contact with power lines,” a Manitoba Hydro spokesperson said in an email to CBC News.

More reports are coming in, the spokesperson said, but so far the outages include:

  • Area of Niverville Avenue and Braemar Avenue: 1,400 customers affected.
