Long Plain First Nation girl reported missing found safe

A 13-year-old girl reported missing from Long Plain First Nation in southern Manitoba this week has been found, police say.

The Manitoba First Nations Police Service previously said the girl was reported missing on Wednesday, after she was last seen in February at her residence on the First Nation near Portage la Prairie.

She has since been found safe in the community, the police service said in a Friday news release.

CBC has removed the girl’s name and picture to protect her identity now that she has been found.
