The Louise Bridge over the Red River at Point Douglas will be closed to vehicle traffic for two weeks starting Monday for annual maintenance.
The closure will start June 17 at 6 a.m. and last until June 28 at 6 p.m., the City of Winnipeg said in a news release Friday.
Drivers in the area should plan extra travel time to get where they’re going, the news release said.
People going downtown from westbound Nairn Avenue or from southbound Stadacona Street should take Midwinter Avenue to the Disraeli Bridge as an alternative route, the city said.
There will still be pedestrian access on one side of the bridge during the closure. Signs will be in place to tell people which side is supposed to be used at any given time, the news release said.
