Man, 32, dies after he was left seriously injured on Winnipeg sidewalk

A 32-year-old is dead after being assaulted and left seriously injured on a Winnipeg sidewalk earlier this week, police say.

Philip Daniel Lachose was found on Maryland Street north of Portage Avenue

A 32-year-old is dead after being assaulted and left seriously injured on a Winnipeg sidewalk earlier this week. 

Police responding to a report of an assault found Philip Daniel Lachose on Maryland Street, north of Portage Avenue, on Tuesday around 6:50 p.m. 

He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. 

Lachose was a member of Chemawawin Cree Nation who lived in Winnipeg at the time of his death. Lachose’s family has been notified of his death. 

Winnipeg police have released no information about any suspect in his homicide. 

Police ask anyone with information about his death, including video surveillance, to contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.
