Man fatally shot in Winnipeg’s Spence neighbourhood

A man is dead after a shooting early Tuesday in Winnipeg.

Police were patrolling when they heard gunshots and found the victim

A man is dead after a shooting early Tuesday in Winnipeg.

Police were patrolling around 12:45 a.m. when they heard the gunshots, according to a news release from the police service.

They found Edison Leslie Erskine, 46, suffering from a gunshot wound near Furby Street and Cumberland Avenue, in the Spence neighbourhood. The officers provided emergency care until an ambulance rushed him to hospital in critical condition.

Erskine was later pronounced dead.
