Man’s death in Winnipeg’s Exchange District considered suspicious, police say

A man who was critically injured earlier this month in Winnipeg’s Exchange District has died, and police are treating the death as suspicious.

Kyle Beardy, 35, was rushed to hospital on the evening of May 6 following an assault near Siloam Mission on Princess Avenue and Henry Street, according to a news release from police.

Beardy, originally from St. Theresa Point First Nation but recently living in Winnipeg, has since died from his injuries, the release stated but did not say when.

An autopsy is pending to determine the exact cause of his death.

The police service’s major crimes unit is investigating and anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219.
