Perimeter Highway northeast of Winnipeg reopens after crash

A section of Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway northeast of the city has reopened, after being closed for more than five hours due to a motor vehicle crash, the province says. 

The province sent out the notice of the closure of Highway 101 westbound at Wenzel Road just before 5 p.m. At 10:48 p.m., it said the highway had reopened.

Witnesses reported seeing emergency crews and STARS air ambulance on the scene.

A man in his 40s was taken to Health Sciences Centre in serious but stable condition, STARS said in a statement sent to CBC News just before 6 p.m.
