Both inmates who escaped from The Pas Correctional Centre on Monday night are now back in police custody.
RCMP were notified about the breakout at The Pas Correctional Centre on Monday night around 7 p.m. They recaptured one of the men around 8:30 p.m. with help from Manitoba First Nations Police Service, police dogs and a drone.
The other man, Brandon Anderson, 29, was still at large early Tuesday morning, but police have since recaptured him.
RCMP said in a news release that Anderson was arrested at Grace Lake airport, about three kilometres east of The Pas.
While the inmates were loose, residents in The Pas were advised to turn on exterior lights and ensure their doors and windows were locked.
That advisory is now lifted.
