A silver alert for a missing 69-year-old Winnipeg man has been cancelled after he was safely located, say police.

The alert was issued Tuesday evening, after he had last been seen earlier that day in the West Kildonan area.

The man was considered vulnerable and police said they were concerned for his well-being.

An updated release was issued late Tuesday night to say the man had been found.

A previous version of this story contained his name and photograph. Those have since been removed to protect his privacy.
