Thunderstorm warning issued for Winnipeg

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the city of Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon, as well as a section of the Red River Valley.

Parts of southern Manitoba also under watches, warnings on Sunday

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the city of Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon.

The weather agency issued the warning for Winnipeg at 4:08 p.m., warning of strong wind gusts, nickel-sized hail and heavy rain.

A warning was issued for the rural municipality of Dufferin, which includes the communities of Carman, Homewood and Roseisle, but it ended a few minutes later.

A thunderstorm watch also extends from Brandon to the west to Steinbach in the east and includes the Interlake region north to Lundar, Man.
