Winnipeg police are asking for the public’s help to find a vehicle believed to be connected to the abduction and death of a 22-year-old Ontario man last week.
Police are searching for a black 2018 Honda Civic Touring, with the Manitoba licence plate LLN113, in connection with the death of Zeyad Shammo, they said in a news release Thursday.
The 22-year-old Ontario man was abducted in Winnipeg the day before he was reported missing on Sept. 10, police previously said.
The Honda Civic’s licence plates may have been removed or changed, police said.
Anyone who sees the vehicle is advised not to touch it and instead contact police immediately at 204-986-6219, or at 204-986-6033 outside regular hours.
Officers found Shammo’s body at a home on Bristol Avenue, near St. Luc Street, in Winnipeg’s Norwood East neighbourhood on Sept. 13. He had been last seen in Winnipeg’s Bridgwater neighbourhood.
His death is being investigated as a homicide, and police said two people who knew him have been charged.
Sonny Balemba and Robert James Chaykowski, both 26-year-olds from Winnipeg, have been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and extortion.
